Arven Tech ("we," "us," or "our") operates the WhatsApp Receipt Sender application (the "App") for Clover devices. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you (the "Merchant") install and use our App to send receipts to your customers.
1. Information We Collect
When you use the App, we collect several types of information to provide the service:
- Merchant Information: We automatically collect your Clover Merchant ID, business name, location, and currency settings via the Clover SDK to personalize receipts and reports.
- Customer Contact Information: We collect the phone number provided by the customer at the time of purchase for the sole purpose of sending the receipt via WhatsApp.
- Transaction Data: We collect details about the transaction, including Order ID, Payment ID, total amount, and itemized list, to generate the digital receipt content.
- Merchant Preferences: We store the email address and custom messaging templates provided by the Merchant in the App settings.
2. How We Use the Information
We use the collected data for the following business purposes:
- Service Delivery: To generate and transmit digital receipts via the WhatsApp Business API.
- Queue Management: To temporarily store data on the device (offline queue) to ensure delivery during internet outages.
- Reporting: To send periodic activity reports to the Merchant's registered email address.
- Technical Support: To troubleshoot issues and improve App performance.
3. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We share information with third parties only as necessary to provide the service:
- WhatsApp (Meta Platforms, Inc.): Transaction data and phone numbers are shared with WhatsApp to deliver the receipt. This data is subject to WhatsApp's Privacy Policy.
- Cloud Infrastructure: We use AWS and Netlify to process and store data securely.
- Clover Network: We interact with Clover's APIs to retrieve transaction details as authorized by the permissions you grant during installation.
4. Data Security & Retention
We implement industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS encryption and secure local storage, to protect sensitive data. We retain transaction logs only as long as necessary to confirm delivery and fulfill our reporting obligations to the Merchant. Customer phone numbers are used strictly for receipt delivery and are not sold or shared for independent marketing purposes by Arven Tech.
5. Merchant & Customer Rights
In accordance with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy laws, users have the right to:
- Access the data we store about their business.
- Request the deletion of their contact information from our logs.
- Opt-out of future messaging (Customers can reply "STOP" to any WhatsApp message).
6. Compliance with Clover Policies
This App complies with Clover's App Market Developer Agreement. We act as a "Service Provider" to the Merchant. Merchants are responsible for ensuring they have the legal right (consent) to send WhatsApp messages to their customers in their specific jurisdiction.
